What allergies do I need to fake to keep out of a vegetarian restaurant?

Hi All;

I've got a new acquantiance that will probably be asking me out to a vegetarian restaurant because he's a vegetarian. I want to know what allergies I need to fake in order to avoid it. I figure that if I say I'm allergic to eggs, soy, and all legumes that should nuke the possibility of having to go to one. Does that corabination of allergies sound plausible and is it enough to rule out every dish at a typical vegetarian restaurant?

Why not just go and find something you like on the menu? I can usually find a salad or some other dish- eggplant parmesan, a lentil or bean soup of some sort, etc.
 
Lying to your new aquaintance is a really bad way to start a relationship. Especially if you are faking health problems. As one with many food allergies, I would find you very unappealing if you did that to me.

So why not man up and tell her you aren't a vegetarian and would prefer a restaurant that served meat or fish and occasionally go to what she likes and buck up and eat a salad. They treat yourself with an extravagant dessert for being good.

And I can't think of any corabination of food allergies that would get you out of going to a vegetarian restaurant. Not even the ones you mentioned. How does that get you out of having a salad? And some vegans don't do eggs either so that doesn't work at all. You'd have to be allergic to all veggies and fruits that won't work.

I'd just ask him to stop by the nearest McDonalRAB on the way to the restaurant. Perhaps that will give him some kind of hint or clue about your own preferences.

Tell him that your favorite vegetarian meal is the Quarter Pounder with Cheese! :D
 
Tell him that you are low on Vitamin B12 and also that you need to improve your dietary Omega-6:Omega-3 ratio.

Both of those are probably true, and both will almost certainly get worse at the average vegetarian restaurant.

If nothing else, it should lead to a stimulating conversation.

If you prefer an outright lie, then you could say that you need a low-carb diet due to bacterial overgrowth in your small intestine. If he pressures you to have a high-fat vegetarian meal instead, then you can hit him with your concerns about the omega ratio.
