What all do i need to start financial aid?

Im starting my first year at college but i have no idea where to start and what all i need i know im going to need financial aid but i dont know how to get it or apply for it.What else do i need to start?Links,advise,help needed please.
 
Start here. The very first step is completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). WHen you receive your efc number (expectedf family contribution) from your FAFSA, contact your financial aid adviser at your school.
