environment.? I would like to know what adaptations the hummingbird goes through to survive in the wild and also enable them to meet the demands of their natural environment.

Thanks in advance :) xxx

They send out scouts to scour the area near them for food.Did not know this until I read about it.They are natural survivors and will always find food.Sap from tree's sweet flowers, etc

They have to eat often because they burn so much energy with their high metabolism. They are adapted to drinking high energy nectar. They have long thin bills to reach the nectar and long tongues to lick it up.

They go dormant at night and their body temperature drops significantly to save energy.
