Would it be more humane to just euthanize these beautiful creatures, there seems to be a very low success rate of saving them, & they would be in such distress through the operation & for what, to make humans feel good because they made the effort?

They make efforts to help us when we are in the water, it seems only fair to return the effort. The reasons for beaching are not fully understood but we may partially be to blame, therefore taking responsibility for their rescue - even failed - is our geas.
