Im having some trouble picking a topic for my paper. This is what I need:
Western Civilization history centers on the concept of syncretism, or the merging of two or more ideas and practices. Many practices that we take for granted today underwent a multitude of modifications as they passed from one civilization to the next. Trace a practice of your own choosing and discuss how that practice advanced through at least three civilizations of Western history. How did they utilize those practices? How did they modify them? Did each civilizations improve the practice?
An example he gave us was the alphabet. Basically who invented it, who improved it and who modified it. He also gave us an example of the greek phalanx, and how many Western Civilizations improved the practice through time.
So do you know a good topic I could use?
