Were you or someone you know ever not allowed to play fall sports because of grades?

Were you, or someone you know, ever not allowed to play fall sports because grades were to bad the last 9 weeks of school?
What did it do to you or for you? Did you do better then and continue to play your sport after your grades were better or did you quit and do worse or did you quit the sport but do better with grades? Please tell me your experience with this or someone else you may know that was in this type of situation.
 
yup must maintain a c average unless your like the couch favorite, star player then they bend the rules
