The four horsemen was a name given to a a famous Notre Dame backfield. Their names were Elmer Layden,Don Miller,Harry Stuhldreher and James Crowley. The team went undefeated and untied in 1924 capping off the season with a rose bowl victory over Stanford and won the national championship.


The Four Horsemen were also a professional wrestling stable in the National Wrestling Alliance and later World Championship Wrestling that was disbanded in 1999. The original group featured Ric Flair, Arn and Ole Anderson, and Tully Blanchard.
