we're engaged and i feel like i want to have sex, will this hurt my relationship?

my boyfriend of one year (asked me to marry him 3 months ago) we're both adults and are engaged. in the beginning -like any guy- he pressured me for sex then stopped after a couple weeks. he let me relax and didnt make me feel i had to do anything i didnt want to. he still doesnt pressure me. we've been in a lot of really sketchy situations where both of us end up naked and kissing/dry humping that type of thing but it doesn't lead to sex because i stop after we both get off without sex. (you know what i mean) I want to and feel ready for sex but people tell me it ruins relationships all the time and I don't want to be another failed relationship due to something as stupid as sex. Help me.
im asking because i've been wanting to for a month or so now, also, today when we were both naked and masturbating each other he said " do you wanna.." and stopped, but I knew what he meant.
im 18 btw.
 
If you're engaged go for it. you're obviously going to get married and then you'll be having sex so why not. It only hurts your relationship if you let it
