WEP / WPA Wireless on Vista :nono:

Im using a Linksys WRT54G and a Belkin USB adaptor.. connects just fine with no security, however setting any kind of encryption causes "limited access" or no connection in some cases.. thinking Vista and Linksys encryptions are not compatable..

Vista and Linksys encryptions work fine together. I'm guessing user error.

Make sure your keys match (it is case sensitive if you are using passphrases) and that you aren't filtering your vista machines mac address.

Using a static IP to test with as someone else suggested is a good idea also.

Needs to have a LEAP compatible network card, not a LEAP compatible OS.

my university sent out a bulletin explaining that vista will not work with the current leap system

I have the same problem when i try to connect after going into standby. I found that if you disable the network then reconnect it works again.
