You can't go wrong with a Road King. They are fantastic touring bikes and around town cruisers. It's almost like getting 2 bikes. Pick out your fav color, go get one and join the family!
 
I have an 09 Road King Police with the 103" motor and ABS brakes.

Very happy.

AND ...

It has been scientifically proven that anyone, who buys a Harley in the Touring line that is not a Road King, is statically more likely to be either queer, mentally deficient, or just plain hideous to look at.
 
I love that shake too. I have tassles on my brake/clutch lever and at idle, they bounce like crazy, but once I rev it up a bit, they get deathly still.

As for changes, the 2010 got helical cut 5th gear so it doesn't whine (though I like the 2009 whine as it tells me what gear it is in). For 2011, I don't think there were any real changes to the Road King, though the Road King Classic got the 103" motor standard, as well as ABS. Cruise was already standard on the RKC.

For some reason, the 103" isn't available from the factory on the RK standard.

Either way, you'll love it. I have 11k on my 2009 RKC and love every mile of it.
 
glad for you that you can buy a rk custom because the european market has this model canceld for 2 years now
only rkclassic or no roadking
the roadglide custom is not for sale in europe to
only as cvo!
 
Well. I have the itch for the new Harley as I already have an 05 Harley Ultra with all the goodies and 103 engine, power commander.....and love it.. and will keep the Ultra......but my itch is for the Road King with hard bags and will have the dealer install the 103 etc....so I believe this will be my final purchase as it will definitely outlast me....the wide tire is awsome in my opinion too.....like the OP....Merlot is my choice of color...so within a month I will scratch the itch and have a RK in my garage......bigal v
