So about 3 weeks ago I developed a cold and had a slight fever for about 2 days. I was over it in about a week.
2 weeks later I felt a 4 swollen lymph nodes on the back of my neck that wern't painful and were moveable, 2 on each side on the back of my neck. 1 that was about the size of the marble and the other 3 slightly smaller. A few days later I started coming down with a mild fever at night, my oral temperature was around 99-100F along with a sore throat and a bit of a cough. Also the gland under my right jaw became swollen and tender on the same side as the larger lymph node in my neck.
I went to the doctor on Monday and he put me on Amoxicillin and sent me for blood tests checking my white blood count and to test me for mono, which I really doubt I have. He checked my throat and said it was red and swollen.
What is weird that during the day I feel pretty normal, I still have a bit of a cough and feel fatigued but in the evening the fever hits and I feel like crap. I usually take a couple tylenol and I start to feel better again.
About a year ago I had quite a bad cold where I was coughing up mucus and the doctor thought I had bronchitis. Is it possible I got a bacterial infection from that and it just took this long to present itself?
I also need a few root canals done, that I have to go to a specialist for that I am trying to book an appointment for. Could it be a dental infection? My gums aren't swollen and my teeth aren't painful.
I never had anything like this before. Any ideas?
