I bought some smoked sausages some days ago, for frying. They had a good smell.
When I wanted to cook them, I opened the bag and found they are covered in a white, sticky goo, that perspired from the intestine casing. I washed that stuff off and now they don't seem to smell differently than when I bought them at all!
What was that stuff??? Did they go bad? If yes, why don't they smell altered??
