Does anyone else dread taking a shower? I know it sound weird, but every time I go to take a shower I get very panicky. I don't know if it's the steam or what, but I feel like I can't breathe. Then I get light-headed and feel funny. I've been taking lukewarm showers, and that seems to help a little. But I still feel this way. Does this happen to anyone else? Thanks.

I do to! I shower with the curtain half open and he bathroom door all the way open. I hate cold showers but what I hate more is getting overheated with the hot water. For me it's a cross between severe general anxiety, claustraphobia and I overheat easily plus when I'm hot I'm anxious so I hate shower steam. Aslo something about the sound of the shower cancelling out all other sounRAB really bothers me. I'm the type of person who likes constant background noise like tv, talking, voices, etc, I can't stand silence or not hearing what's going on around me. For me, baths are even worse, too hot & quiet, not enough distraction from anxiety.

I thought I was nuts! I too leave the shower curtain open in the back of the tub, and the bathroom door wide open. What I would give for a warm shower that I'm not shaking because I'm cold! :(
