I very unusually skipped a period last month. This month it seemed I had gotten my period on time, but it was very very light and has been going for over a week (very unusual for me). It keeps starting and stopping throughout the day this whole time.
Today I had all but no flow so I wasn't wearing a pad. Two hours later, I was sitting down when I suddenly started to feel little trickles and cramps. I stood up and felt a *giant* gush running down my legs like I had wet myself.
When I went to the restroom, my underwear and jeans were completely soaked with bright red blood. You could actually wring it out of my underwear and was what had ran down my legs. It didn't smell like menstruation fluid, but smelled overwhelmingly of blood. There was also a very large clot about 1/2 to 3/4 size of my palm.
I felt whoozy driving home and now seem to have gone back to a very very light (albeit bright red) flow.
What in the heck was that? Should I go to the ER?
I'm 25 and usually have normal perioids. I'm not on birthcontrol. There was a small chance I could have conceived, but had a negative pregnancy tests when I was 3 weeks late for my last period.
