weird guy problem scenario?

it's actually really brief. basically me(female), my friend(male) and his brother are moving into a 2 bedroom one living room apartment. the plan is that him and his brother take a room and i take the living room. the living room is pretty enclosed so it's not really out in the open. the problem is that my friend, whose room is right next to the living room, insists that i live in the same room with him so that we all can have a living room. i kept arguing against the idea of having a living room, and every time i told him that i dont think we should have a living room, he keeps hurling more argumenents as to why there should be a living room. the only way we can have a living room is if i share the room next to the living room with him. i dont really know his brother that well and his brother is not involved in this as he is keeping his room all to himself as it is. now i just first do not understand why the guy is so persistent in trying to persuade me to agree in sharing a room with him. it is also insanely awkward for me. can anyone tell me why?
