Weird gall-bladder question

A couple of years ago, I had my gall bladder removed. During my hospital stay, the nurses performed several blood tests...none of which I received any results. What were these blood tests for? What kinds of things do they test for during pre- and post-operation?
Thanks!

You can call the hospital records dept and get your test results, by fax if you have one.

A complete blood count is routine in any hospital stay. A basic metabolic panel (BMP) or perhaps just liver enzymes. Exactly what they were checking for is really based on you and the doctor - your age, overall health, how the surgery went, how picky your doc is about tests, etc.
