Lately I've occasionally had a weird feeling in a specific point under my hair. It feels like a single strand of hair being pulled not nearly enough to hurt, just enough to notice.
It doesn't hurt, or itch, or burn. It just feels weird.
Since it happened so rarely I didn't really bother investigating it. I'd just smooth my hair, though it didn't really feel like there was anything out of place, and it'd mostly go away.
Then it increased a bit in frequency during a motorbike trip. I thought the helmet had rumpled the hair or something, and it went away soon afterwards. I still didn't bother looking for reasons.
Then it again happened very rarely, and I practically forgot about it.
This all spanned about, oh, a month or two.
And then today it started when I woke up and it's been bugging me ever since. I haven't felt it ALL the time, but very definitely much more than before. It's annoying as hell, and it distracts me so much it prevented me from doing anything much today. It also started worrying me.
I have a cat, and though I gave him anti-parasite treatment I was worried a tick might have survived and somehow found its way on my scalp. Or lice; I'm not the kind of person who wallows in his own filth, but I seem to remember lice being able to jump from one person to the next.
So I asked my girlfriend to look carefully at the interested area with a flashlight, but after careful examination she found nothing.
My doctor is unavailable at the moment, and if I went to the hospital they'd probably only laugh at me.
Do you have any idea what this might be, and most importantly how to get it to stop? It's really annoying the hell out of me.
I'd post this under skin problems, but I'm not sure it's actually a skin problem, since there's nothing visible in the interested area.
Thank you.
