I rebooted my 9200 to update the guide for rds hd and now it wont get past the 5 satellite tests. It wont go past 3 of 5, it just restarts.

I get great satellite receptions though if I go through the system test.

So I check my 3100, its working. So I reboot it and not it wont get past 3 of 5. I checked the dish outside, looks good.

I removed my sw-44 switch and hook up the 9200 on 2 sw-22 switches and still the same.

Is anyone else getting this? I am on hold with BEV now and they say they have over a 10min wait. I wonder if something is up with them.

If someone has a spare receiver can you reboot it to see if you can get past 3 of 5 test.

i finally got ahold of someone at bell, it is their issue and they are working on it.

Could be an LNB or cable issue. Try connecting the 91 LNB directly to the 3100 and see what happens. Perform a check switch if successful. Try switching the LNBs and repeat. That should tell you if an LNB is bad. Look for moisture, corrosion or short center conductors in the cables to tell if they are bad.

Ughhhhhh
If it aint broken
I was in the system setup, trying to change my remote 1 to UHF, and noticed a warning
Checked it out, said a few losses of signal, not a big deal
Checked the signal strength
Wrong satellite (82 was showing up for 91, as if the lines had been switched)
No problem, right?
Just run a check switch to correct it...
Who wants to watch the opening game anyways......
Holy Jeebus!
Strange coincidence how busy the 10 CSR's at ExpressVu get busy when they @#$^$%& something up
"All of our operators are currently busy helping other pissed off customers"
I want to sit on hold and waste the night away, but I think I will go and watch the game in SD instead...
Don't mess with a mans hockey!

Got zapped by an ECM or a firmware bug? Shame on EV for not doing better. Pi$$ off hockey fans and EV's got trouble. :D

That isn't going to happen with a 9200.

Just did it
1st remote (6.2 UHF) is now IR/UHF working for the tuner (sorry for the sloppy wording, I meant my 1st tuner)
Is that what is going on right now? Some sort of attack on the pirates?
Another poster was complaining it took him 20 minutes to download the program guide (mine took that long as well)
My box is working again now, however, I missed the 1st period, the Mrs missed recording half of her show...
She can time shift it I guess, but I hate having my $140 / month subscription affected when Bell's sloppy ECM's go awry (If thats the case)

I just saw the other thread about getting a UHF Pro remote to do UHF with tuner 1 on a 9200. Very interesting.

Similar problem here. Last nite I was in the basement listening to Galaxie (6100 receiver) while exercising on the eliptical when suddenly, it decided to reload the program guide. No problem, does this all the time. Then it goes into cardiac arrest, trying to locate sattelite, checking transponder, with no success. I then checked signal and nada on either sattelite. Did check switch and again nothing, just Xs in all the boxes. It was rather late and I didn't feel like fri$$in' around with CSR at that time. I will swap out the 6100 with the one I have upstairs after work and see what happens. The one upstairs is working just fine so I'm a little confused. ?? dead SW21 for the basement??
Any comments, opinions, guidance?

My 9200 went all buggy and acting in a strange manner, including the check switch, acquire satellite, and downloading guide problems in this thread. It also started doing some really funky stuff with the recording tuners, essentially acting like a single tuner PVR for a while, something I have never seen or heard of before.

It all seems to coincide with the sun transit event, see the other thread. After a reset or two, everything went back to "normal".

After a meaningful discussion with the CSR, it was determined that the problem was with the SW21 switch to the basement. The install tech came by on Sunday (can you believe it!!) and changed the switch, which was in fact faulty. While he was there he also ran new cable from the dish to the basement since the original installer just connected to the old Rogers run thru the wall. He explained to me that (1) the Rogers cable was the wrong type and (2) the connections were corroded and deteriorated to a point that it was amazing that any signal was getting through. I now have a setup that should work for a good long time (the other connection is direct from the sattelite and hasn't had any problems in 5 yrs). I and, more importantly. the wife are most pleased with the CSR and the installer. Cudos to Bell for a change.
