My daughter is two, and was fine all day, then went down for her nap, and woke up itching like crazy, but she said it hurt to scratch. She hadn't been scratching it very much, so the pain wasn't from irratation. It is circular, on her abdomen on both sides right under her ribs, it is in clusters, there are no complete "rings", just a bunch of misshapen circles. They are not raised or scaly, you actually can't really feel them at all. She has no fever or other symptoms.
I looked at a bunch of pictures of ringworm on the internet because that is the ony circular rash that I know of, and it dosen't look like that. Hers are in clusters of about maybe 8-10 small circles, a little smaller than a dime. She has some that are by themselves. The skin around the rash is also pink, as in the area around ther ring.
I gave her some benedryal and put some lotrimin on it in case it is ringoworm, I don't want to use cortaid because that can make ringworm worse. I made an appointment with her pedicatrician, but it is not until 3:30 tomorrow and I can't sleep. (worrywart I know)
What are some other rashes that are in a circular, lacey pattern that hurt and are itchy? I couldn't find much info on this and it dosen't look like any ringworm I've seen.
