weird blinking cursor!! please help?

ok, so i have an hp mini 110 and when i type, the cursor sometimes blinks really fast and unevenly. also, sometimes, when i type, the text doesn't show up straight away. i have to wait a bit, then the screen sort of jumps and it appears?! my mum says it probably cuz i type too fast and it cant keep up, but i dont think it is? pls pls help! its my new laptop and i need to know if anythings wrong. thankyou sooooooooooo much x
