Weird bleeding question?

This morning I was really itchy "down there" and I was scratching and rubbing to relieve the itch, and literally right after I stopped scratching, I felt something wet in my underwear and I checked and there was blood. I already had my period this month and I've had my period for almost three years and it's pretty regular. So all day I've had light bleeding, but when I pee there's no blood in the pee. There's only blood when I wipe and there's a little blood in my pad. The blood is bright red and not period looking, so I'm just wondering if it's my period or if I have a cut near my vagina.
 
Don't worry this happens to me kind of frequently and I used to panic and put on pads until I realized it was these cut/zit like things on my vagina and there was no reason for pads. Don't worry you're fine :)
 
Well, only you can determine how much blood there really is, but by the description of the situation and color, I'd say most likely a cut.
