Hi

I smoked like 10 cigarettes a day for about a year and then quit around 4 months ago.
But I still do smoke once in while. On average, after every two weeks I have 3-4 cigarettes in a row, typically during a weekend party or something. Sometimes its less, sometimes its more. The surprising thing is that i really dont have a craving for it during these two weeks time. Its only after these many days are passed, i begin to have thoughts about having one cigarette.
So what i want to ask is, first, whether I am still addicted to cigarettes? And second, whether i have really reduced the probability of smoking caused problems to be negligible?
I know ideally, i shouldnt be smoking at all. But, you know, it doesnt seem worth it. Because smoking IS fun, if not done in addictive and hazardous manner.
So finally the question is, should i continue with this life if i want a reasonably (not ideal) healthy life?
thank you for your replies!

All I can say is that if I were you, I would not pick up another one. Why risk it?? It may be "fun" to you , but it is one of the worst things you can do to your body. I lost my mother to lung cancer 5 years ago and it was the worst thing in my life. I am still not over it. So my advice to you is just leave it alone. It is not worth it, even at a few every 2 weeks.

musicman i lost my daddy to lung cancer when i was 22 years old and pregnant with my first child. it was the most awful experience for me. even though i am addicted to oxys, i will take my pill addiction any day over smoking. and let me tell you astro addiction is addiction. i have never been addicted to anything in my life until now. i am currently 42 years old and am addicted to pain pills. the only good thing is i have never been moved to go out and buy them on the street and plus i usually stay within my script meaning that i don't usually go over. if i do i end up cutting my dose in half toward the end of the month. that in and of itself is a nightmare. so if i were u astro quit while you are ahead and run for your life because you litterally are! the doctor looked at my father and told him that this cancer is the cancer directly related to cigarettes and absolutely nothing else. imagine how i felt after telling him all those years "put down those cancer sticks daddy" unfortunately for him and us it was too late!
