I love the idea, but I think having it during the dancing time may lead to the difficulties you mention, maybe it could be alongside the speeches or cutting of the cake?

Hello,
We're getting married in September and would like to present a slide show that will play for about 20 minutes with dance music.So it would basically start after our first dance, inviting people to make their way to the dance floor.
It's going to be split by decade showing in photos and music the story that brought us here today (starting from the 30s with our grandparents photos and 30s music and ending with us as a couple today)
Has anyone ever done this before? We're just a bit dubious that people won't know what to do: watch or dance?
We are planning on having 2 slide shows though, on both sides of the dance floor so it shouldn't be that bad?
Any thoughts?
