Webcam/Video Source not available (Mac Beta) no matter what!?

I have Messenger 3.0 2 for mac installed- and can't select a video source (the webcam icon is grayed out on the friends list at the bottom, is grayed out in preferences, as is the "video source" box in preferences. NOTHING is clickable. I know my camera is working because it's fine with MacAm. Any ideas?
