Web browser that remembers userid/passwords?

I've got a n73, and have tried both included web browsers, as well as opera, and none of them will remember userid/passwords of sites I go to.

Is there some special hidden setting somewhere I'm missing? Or maybe a password addon that I can download?

Opera Mobile will get the job done. Also, apparently the new browser on the N95 and 6290 and any other Feature Pack 1 devices has userid/password store built-in. Honestly, on a mobile, it should be. I don't use the feature on my desktop but the mobile is all about convenience.

If you don't delete the cookies when you're done browsing, the Nokia web browser and Opera Mobile will keep you logged into sites like this one, but it won't for sites with more security, like ebay or paypal.

I haven't looked much, but I haven't found the option to store user information on the FP1 browser.

I disagree completely, I think Opera Mini's web browsing leaves a lot to be desired.

Personally, I use Opera (full version) 9/10 when I'm browsing on my phone, use the built-in browser 1/10, and the Services browser sits in the "crap" folder where it belongs.

My Issues with Opera Mobile:

navigating between links is a pain. On Mini, you can just hit left or right to page up and down, then hit up or down to move between links. And if you hold down the down button, it scrolls quickly between the links.

On Mobile, if you hold down the down button, it pages down the page, but not the links. If you have a link you want to hit at the bottom of the page, you have to hit the down button manually a bunch of times to get to the link. (you can't just hold it down).

There doesn't seem to be as many shortcuts. On mini I used #0 a lot to refresh the page. Mobile doesn't seem to have a shortcut for that (or at least, I haven't figured it out yet).

Wirelessly posted (Series 60: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Symbian OS; Series 60/3.0704.1.0.1; 9730) Opera 8.65 [en])

Actually if you hold down the down button in Opera Mobile it scrolls fast, not link to link. Once you get to the part of the page where your link is, start hitting the down button to jump from link to link. It does both depending upon whether tip a long press or a short press down.

In Opera Mobile, if you explore the settings a bit, you'll find the last page allows you to set your own shortcuts, so that you can make the numberpad do whatever you want it to do.

I know, that's what I don't like. To get to the last link on the page, you have to hold down to page down, then once you are at the bottom of the page, you have to press down down down down down, etc... to get to the final link. I like it much better to be able to just hold down to move between links.

A good question, though, why doesn't the default browser remember passwords? I thought I read somewhere that it was supposed to do that?

You're missing three functions on Opera Mobile that will help you out a lot.

The first two are the scroll shortcuts. If you start to play with the shortcuts mapped out on the keypad, I believe the default for 6 and 9 is page up and page down. This is different from scrolling with the directional pad in that one press will scroll one full screen length. I prefer using that method over any of the other methods of scrolling on any other mobile browser cause it works so damn well.

The other is the "Find next" shortcut. I don't believe it's defaulted to any number on the keypad, but if you configure it for one of them, it will bring you to the bottom of the page from the top in one press or back to the top from the bottom.
