Weather Spotters;what can I look for that will indicate a tornado or severe storm?

Okay so I am 13 and I am a weather freak.Well I live in the Ohio Valley which is supposed to be slammed with severe storms today.Can you tell my what exactly I can look for to indicate tornadoes or severe weather.Thank you
