Hello,

I had a two level spinal fusion one year ago. My back feels great. BUT I have very weak legs and leg pain. My knees ache and so do my hips. I did not have this before the surgery. Could this be surgery related? I am a active mother of 3 daughers, I am not over weight and I work fulltime. Has anyone else experianced this? If I sit for more than 5 minutes I have to get up and stretch, sometimes I have a hard time walking at first after I get up from sleeping or prolonged sitting. They feel weak, sore, as if my legs are going to buckle. No shooting pains or any sciatica pain.

Help!

I've had these same problems. Try taking time out to stretch those areas more often and find comfortable positions to relax, sleep, and sit in. DO NOT sleep on your stomach!

When you sleep on your back, do you have a wedge under you knees to releave the pressure on your lower back? I found that helped some with my leg issues. It takes the pressure off of your legs and your lower back.

Hello, iam the same way it is scar tissue causing inflamation try to get muscle relaxor,my pm just gave me them.my failed fusion was in 1993 iam still not working. Rick ncpa

Thanks for the replys. I am thinking of calling my nuero surgeon to get in and see him. This weakness in the legs is not getting better
