Do not mixup the Mujahideen of the Soviet Era with todays Afgan Taliban, the Taliban came to power by over throwning the tribal warriors that formed the anti soviet Mujahideen.

America started doing exactly what the Soviets had, trying to control Afghanistan for its own purposes.
The US didn't help the Mujahidin because they liked them, it was purely to defeat the USSR.
As you probably know al quaeda was invented by the US, as a CIA asset, and look what happened there.

Your full of BS. The afghans are getting bombed by our aircraft daily. There is DU in Afghanistan . The US bombed their irrigation systems so they could not farm in order to make them dependent on releif and thereby countable and controlled. . The US installed a dozen rapist warlords as their government. They paid assasins to kill their legitimate leaders. The US looted their antiquities and destroyed their civilisation . US and its allies starved them en masse. They demonised ISLAM and insulted deeply held beleifs- In particular women's honor. They instigated conflicts between groups of people in Afghanistan that had lived peaceably side by side for a millenia . They damaged holy places and mosques of great antiquity. They imported pornography and sold alchohol in their towns. They set up the ISI and installed them as a factory for heroin takeing the profitsand useing them for crimminal acts and punished the taliban when they got rid of the poppies. They continued the war when it might have been stopped. Bush and his cronies plotted with UNOCAL to build a pipeline accross territory that was not theirs to control violating Afghani Soverign rights. Like common pirates. They mined out gems until they were depleted and shared none of that profit with Afghans . They killed not less than 2 million Afghani people. But if the truth were known from all causes of death... from the disruption of that fragile and poor pastoral nomadic society and its desert farms probably killed 3 million from all causes.

The United States helped the Mujaheddin for their own interest to curtail Communist, not out of love and respect for the Afghans or the Islamic culture. After the Afghan war was over the Unites States wanted to pull out of Afghanistan so the CIA created the Taliban regime and handed over the power to them to prevent any unrest in the country and to control the several warlords that controlled their respective areas.
Osama Bin Ladin was a CIA operative who helped Americans distribute funds and ammunition to the different people and tribes in Afghanistan.
Then somewhere in the mid 90s the US felt the need to have some presence in Asia from where they could control the whole region and Afghanistan was the softest target available to do that so from that point on they labeled Bin Ladin as a terrorist and designed the whole 9/11 to implicate him in it and to find an excuse to attack poor and starving people of Afghanistan who did not stand any chance agianst the US invading forces.
Finally to answer your question, How could anyone love you if you have invaded their country, occupying it, and have killed innocent people including women and children. If you want to be loved and respected by them, leave their country to their people. The Taliban regime would not be feasible anywhere else but it worked for them.
