Having the right nutrition makes sure that the correct substances needed for cellular respiration to take place, i.e. carbohydrates, are being eaten. Once eaten, digestion releases these substances from the food and puts them into the blood stream. The blood stream takes the sugars to the cells for cellular respiration to take place.

Respiration allows oxygen to get to the cells. Oxygen is needed for aerobic respiration to occur. By breathing in, the oxygen in the atmosphere gets transferred to your blood stream and ends up going to the cells.

Now that glucose and oxygen are in your cells, cellular respiration can take place
