we have a ford f-150 1989 larriat and it will turn over but will not start what

If the starter turns the engine, the battery and starter are fine,

That leaves fuel spark, and compression
You have gas in the tank
take the plug wire lose from one plug,, hold it next to the valve cover, and crank the engine
If you get a spark, the problem is in the fuel or compression..
check the fuel filter, pump, and injector...

If you get spark and fuel that leaves compression, which would probably mean, a slipped timing chain...

my guess would be fuel filter plugged, or a bad cap and rotor.....
 
its not getting spark to the plugs or its not getting gas to the injection system or carb or maybe the timing is off could be alot of things
