favour of spaying? I mean look at the reasons for spaying: pregnancy issues, blood from "periods", pyometra, cancer and maybe one or two more conditions. But if an owner can deal with some blood and keeps a close eye on their dog when she's in heat the first two issues are dealt with.
When it comes to pyometra, cancer etc isn't that just like telling a healthy woamn that she should have a mastectomy and get her ovaries removed just incase she gets cancer at some time in the future? If you wouldn't say that to a person then why do you think its ok to make that decision for an animal? It's nonsensical.
In fact the pro-spay lobby could be accused of actually being anti-animal welfare rather than pro-animal welfare. Or is that too extreme a position to take? Thanks.
