we bought a 1978 CJ7 Jeep and we signed papers and all but..?

the guy took off we gave him five hundred and owed two more to get the title, we have the jeep but now no title, what is the easiest and fastest way to get a new title? We have the old registration to the guy who ran off on us, so what are our options? I know about lost title and abdunded title which is best for us?
the registration was in the glove box we barley found it when we were cleaning the jeep out
 
I suggest go to your local Moter vechile office and file for a missing title bring in the registration also.
 
lets see if the guy who ''sold thecar'' and the registration are one and the same person.
