We are but a spec in an infinite universe?

When I try and grasp how large the universe is it actually gives me chills. I get a scared feeling when realizing how small we are. It scares me, to think if our entire planet were to blow up tomorrow, the rest of the huge universe wouldnt know or care, if there are other living things out there to care. Anyone else ever think about how tiny we are, and get that scared feeling. I mean i look up at the night sky and realize that just one of those tiny little white dots in the sky is so much larger than anything i can imagine, and that is just 1 star of billions, and billions. The whole universe is just sooooo overhwelming

Many people (I'd even venture most) feel this way when getting a small grasp of how miniscule we really are. When you think about it, we are but the size of an atom compared to everything else. It also makes you think about why we worry so much over friends, family, love and all that. It is simply because we are less important. Though, we are quite amazing for realizing this ourselves, we are trivial compared to the impeccable universe around us.
