...financial planning advice? We are 50 & 52 and only recently adopted a baby from SE Asia. All our children (from separate marriages) are grown and well on their way. With a newborn (again) we are clearly in a place to consider how to support her in our later years, or if something should happen to us. We are confused about wills/trusts/ and other options. We assume that life insurance should continue to go to each spouse if the other passes, and then to her? Through a will or trust? We are living overseas trying to re-establish ourselves after devastating divorces - so we're making great money, but we're basically at ground zero. Just want to make sure our little one is taken care of. Thanks!
Just to be a little more clear - we are living in the Middle East. Yes, a few books are available, and obviously internet research as well, but we would love advice from other older parents that have also adopted infants, or parents that have just had a late "surprise" baby. If there are any of you that have that personal experience we would love to hear from you!
