I can't recall the name of it off the top of my head, but some record companies used to make CD's where you couldn't copy te music on the disc. Try Googling something like that.
There's also bogus and insanely high fines where they try to make an example out of people to scare others into stopping. Then there's always eliminating the media that allows piracy like Napster or Limewire and so much other stuff. Wikipedia music piracy for more examples.
