above 212'F? There was a coolant leak that my mom's cousin fixed today on her car. He refilled the coolant reservoir with water. When my mom got home I popped the hood on her car because I wanted to add the pre-mixed coolant. There was white stuff everywhere near the coolant reservoir. It was like baked on dried antifreeze or something......
Anyways I checked her auto manual and it specifically states not to add water because it will boil and cause damage inside of the cooling system.
I told her that she needs to get a coolant flush so that there will be a proper 50/50 mix of both coolant and water.
Normally the car operates at 212'F but today it got up to 223'F when I let it idle in the parking lot. I need to know how hot is too hot for this car? At what temperature does the car begin to overheat?
