was wondering if anyone heard anything about the meteorite just missing earth?

heard something about it on the news but was wondering if anyone else heard about it? I only heard bits and pieces. Can't find out anything about it online.
 
pretty sure that, by definition, a meteorITE cannot miss the earth. Only by landing does it become a meteorite.

A big old space rock passed us by the other day. They knew it was coming and saw that it would miss. Happens a lot more than you can imagine.
 
I saw it around 2 am Sunday morning on the 1st of March. We were driving down the interstate and in perfect view we saw the most awesome site. It was like a fire ball crashing into our atmosphere and disentigrating into sparks. Yet I don't think it burned it all the way. It was huge. Thanks for reminding me of this site. I wonder why there is no information on it.
