Nigel Winterburn, Steve Bould/Martin Keown, Tony Adams and Lee Dixon.

They were extremely difficult to break down at times, and very stubborn. Defensively in the 90s we were great, we just lacked a bit of punch from midfield I felt - John Jenson's goal scoring record was laughable and I thought when we signed Glen Helder he never really hit his peak or delivered to his potential for the club. Waste of money he was.

summer 1995 was great though as we signed Dennis Bergkamp (greatest).

I speak to a lot of Man United supporters and they agree - that that back four was actualy pretty awesome.

Or do you think there was a better back four ?

Yes they are the best so far.
It wasn't that they were all great players, but that they played as a unit and could cover for each other almost instinctively

yes your spot on.
