Was this fair of professor in college literature class?

I have a professor in my summer class. It was a general education class not in my major and it was a literature class. The professor had some weird structure to the class. She had no tests but she gave us grades every day on how we participate in class discussion. The professor did not lead the discussion either! She made us sit in circle of desks and have conversation ourselves over what we read. I have autism and have hard time of getting into conversations. I knew all of what we talked about and I read all the literature at least twice so I understand it and I took notes. But the professor did not know this because we did not have tests! I did make perfect grade on my essays of analysis and on my project but I got grades today and I had a B in that class and not an A because of discussion grades. I have never made any grade that is not an A in any college class before. Do you think this was fair?

I can not appeal because the rules are that student has a grade of D or F in order to appeal.
