for a russian jew to say they were from Poland? My great great grandfather morris freedman is said to be from poland according to the English 1880/1890 census. Meyer Freedman, his son says that his father and mother are from kiev and marinpol Ukraine in the 1920's U.S census. I was just wondering if saying you were from russia was unpopular in england near the turn of the 19th century? Im pretty sure he wasn't adopted because he looks like his dad and his brother in a family picture we have.
