It looks like the Taliban are coming back on real strong. But at least Barrack Obama has just enough sense to send more troops into the region,while having a plan to stabilize Iraq,as if that is even truly possible to begin with!

Which brings me back to my real question,what was the 'war on terror really all about along? to route out Osama or just to get to the central asian oil & natural gas fields?
 
I sincerely believe it was about the oil. BUT, in doing so, we took our eye off the ball in Afghanistan and now our terrorist troubles are 10 fold.
 
Without reading the article you linked, I'd say yes.

I'm sure Bush 41 influenced 43 to get his nemesis and get him good.

I'm of the opinion that even though Sadaam was a real bad dude, he was a bullwark against radical Islam in the middle east, and therefore served our national interest until the first Gulf war.

When he invaded Kuwait, we did what we had to do, but that turned an arm's length ally into an enemy. The rest is history, but history didn't work out too well for our national interest.

I'm not looking for Obama to act in the U.S.' interest, though. You're one helluva optimist if you think he's going to fix things.

Under Obama I expect Neville Chamberlain style placation and capitulation to radical Islam.

I predict it will go from bad to worse and will take no less than 10 years before the situation is under control.
 
No, and it is not the so-called 'War on Terror' it is the War on Terror. Obamarx will lose for sure.
 
Do people actually believe this drivel?

Why do you believe people who say that the Taliban is coming back strong? Al Qaida is the military arm of the Taliban, and they used to be an international organization.

Now they're confined to Afghanistan.

Tell me how that's somehow stronger?
