was the mongoose 650 bicycle discontinued, and if so, why?

Was the 96-97 Mongoose crossway 650 discontinued, and if so why?
I see many 250"s , 450's, *50's etc; but no 650"s. Pretty sure this was made befor the sale to pacific bikes.
