Was Pres. Bush seeking to control every aspect of American life and business?

Let me explain. On Sept 7 2008 Bush appointees Hank Paulsen, Ben Bernanke, and FHFA director James Lockhart took government control of two huge mortgage corporations - Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The control is a conservatorship that is probably now permanent. These were private companies that were seized by the federal government and their shareholders lost all value, but they had started out as government agencies in the 1930's before being privatized in the late 60's.

Since then, Pres. Obama has NOT seized any other company. The Government bought huge shares of stock in some other companies in order to prevent them from collapsing, but the shareholders gladly sold those shares. The gov't holds billions in Citigroup stock, but is already selling it back. The gov't plans to begin selling its 50.2% share in the reformed GM in an IPO this year, also. GM has paid back its gov't loans already, and is making money again.

So the actual facts show that Obama is the Capitalist, getting privately owned companies back on their feet and successful, while Bush was the collectivist, Socialist, or Fascist, who took permanent government ownership of corporations.

Conservatives, will you apologize to Pres. Obama for your misunderstanding of the facts?

Thanks, that explains a lot.
I am really only interested in facts you can come up with to refute my research. Not just name calling.
