A couple days ago, I went to Taco Bell and had a weird experience. I could tell English wasn't the cashier's first language. I think there was a communication problem or she had just started working there, because she acted kinda frustrated with getting my order right... "But what KIND of Fresco grilled steak taco?" And she would ask the surrounding people questions that she didn't know the answer to... "Where's the grilled steak buttton?" "Do we use lime sauce?"
So I ended up ordering 3 Fresco tacos. Fresco tacos aren't supposed to come with cheese, so I didn't ask for them to leave it off. I'm allergic to cheese, so when I opened up my tacos and saw they had cheese on them, I asked the cashier if she can have them remade because Fresco tacos aren't supposed to come with cheese (I didn't mention my allergy just yet). So she hesitantly took the tray and asked, "Sooo... I'm just supposed to throw all of this away??" I said, "Fresco tacos don't come with cheese. That must be a new thing." She said, "Well, that's not our fault." I said, "I'm allergic to cheese. I can't eat it." So she took the tray to the cook and they both brung it back me saying, "Sir, there's no cheese on any of this stuff." I opened one of the tacos and said, "There's little bits of cheese in here." So the cashier told the cook, "Just pick the little bits out and give it back to him". The tacos still had cheese in them so when they returned the tray me the 2nd time, I said, "I'm ALLERGIC to cheese. I can't eat it." So the cook offered to make 3 new ones (which is what I wanted them to do in the first place).
So after I got the new order, I told the same cook that I didn't like the cashier's attitude and asked for a manager. The manager came over and I said, "I felt like I wasn't treated fairly..." and he stopped me and said, "Yes, I think you were just rung up wrong, but we took care of that." I said, "NO... that lady wanted to give me back the SAME order with the SAME cheese that would make me sick!" And he asked, "Would you like an order of cinnamon twists for your inconvenience?" I said, "Sure". But the damage was done. I'm not going back there again. I should've ate the cheesy tacos and sued them an inane amount of restitution for my ER bill. Like a million bucks or something.
If you were me, would you return to that same establishment... even if it's the closest chain?
