You mean like Obama calling his grandmother a "typical white person"? I agree.

Hey, Obama is alot like Lincoln was huh?

Even more clear: Lincoln said in his journal that he had "no doubt as to the racial superiority of whites over blacks."

But, he was a product of his time. And, his times were awful. Thankfully, his actions allowed for the US to usher in a more enlightened time that brought most of us out of the fear and hatred caused by slavery and into a more inclusive time. (most of us, anyway)

It was a war between the states, the south did not want the north to tell them what to do. it started when the south wanted to sell Cotton and other supplies to england, but the North said no you can"T they wanted to buy it at a much cheaper price, the slave issue was much later, when early explorers found places such as africa they observed and meet tribes raiding and conquering other tribes and enslaving the captures, the better tribe talked, and gave the early explorers[example the dutch]and others the idea of having slaves, tell the truth about history ,don"T lie just to sugar coat it just to be political correct, that is one of many reasons this country is going down, taking GOD out and all, glad I am not an american

There is no such thing as "less equal." That is an oxymoron.

I wouldn't be surprised if every single president before the 20th century had personal racist beliefs.

Lincoln viewed blacks as inferior to whites. The reason that he freed the slaves was because he had to, in order to save the union. Which was his ultimate goal. If he could of done it without freeing a single slave, he would have.
