Kilgore trout, the fictional science fiction author created by Kurt Vonnegut, and featuring in many of his novels, although I know he was primarily based on Theodore Sturgeon, but was Philip k. Dick also a major influence in this characters creation? Trout had an ability to create amazing ideas but was terrible at putting them into words. I'm not suggesting PKD couldn't put his ideas into words well, I'm a huge fan of his writing. But trouts ideas remind me so much of PKD's ideas.
