hi, i just had an argument with my dad and got in a fair bit of trouble.

basically, my dad just retired (hes 54) so we will be living on my mums part time income from now on.

my dad got angry because this year we will have a rather large family christmas. which im really excited for i think a large family christmas is better than a small one.

anyway, my dad said "ITS TOO MANY PEOPLE TO FEED, IM NOT WORKING!"
i thought this was kind of an unfair statement and he shouldnt use it as an excuse ... since hes the one who retired saying 'we'll be fine', whilest my mum, whose older than him keeps working. Anyway, the family are all going to bring dishes to share, its not like we are paying for the whole thing.

i just find it mean that he gets angry about a family christmas being 'too expensive' when he's the one who decided to retire at 54 ... i know loads of people older than that who still work full time.

anyway im in trouble now, so i was just wondering, in your opinion, is he right? or am i?
i get what you mean about saving money, but if he didnt think we would be 'fine'... than he shouldnt have completely retired at 54. i understand that working kinda sucks, but couldnt he have gone to part time or something
