I had my good friend and her husband over for dinner tonight and my seven year old daughter, Gracie, was being very rude at the table. I have taught her good table manners and etiquette and expect her to use it when company is over. She was continuously making noise and interrupting after I repeatedly asked her to settle down. She would not listen to me, so I dismissed her from the table and sent her up to her room. I told her she would be getting a spanking after our guests left for being extremely while they were here. She was being very stubborn and yelled and screamed the rest of the dinner(from her room). I was very very embarrassed by the time my friends left.
Afterwards, I went up to her room and gave her ten swats on the bare bottom and explained to her why she was being punished. I also took away her TV for three days. Was I too tough on her?
