A week ago I finalised a split with my partner who had been cheating on me. She had been cheating with a work friend for a year and I only found out by chance. I handled the situation well and as a result felt good about myself although I was upset. Surprisingly the upset started to fade very quickly and turn into numbness. A good friend of mine who was going through a divorce finalised hers rather more quickly than I thought she was going to. We decided to spend the New Year period together partly because neither of us were in the party mood.
We really enjoyed each others' company and found that it also helped us get our former partners out of our system as far as was possible.
Against our better judgement we “kissed and cuddled” and inevitably ended up in bed – we had never been intimate before. We had no remorse and actually found ourselves very compatible in bed.
I feel this was an enjoyable and therapeutic interlude among two close friends. My friend would like to take it further. I would too but I feel it's a bad idea.
