I am about to purchase a 2006 Ford Fusion SEL (loaded) with 63k miles on it. I am buying from a Ford dealer at a good price (< $9k). Should I buy a warranty for it? Powertain? Bumper to Bumper?
They salesman was estimating the full warrenty (almost everything) would be around $1500 or so and the powertrian (just tranny axle etc..) would be around $800. These were estimates for covering an additional 3 years/36k miles.
The car has been well cared for and appears to have recieved all its manufacturers suggested maintenance.
I was not going to buy a warranty buy I did read that while most poeple love their fusions, a few have noted transmission problems (for which reapirs can be very expensive).
Should I buy a warranty? if so, which one? Am I better off just putting $1500 aside for future repairs just in case?
